Conceptual paintings and collages, 2017-present

Inspired by my time in Morocco, these paintings and collages are conceptual images for a screenplay in development. The story follows an heir to the throne of a young kingdom as she learns there is more to her people and culture than she realizes, for better and worse.

 

Framed as a princess adventure tale, the story encompasses themes of gentrification and migration while questioning ideas of cultural assimilation, cultural commercialization, and cultural preservation.
