These mixed media collages were created for the project Reclamancipation, a board game that highlights how oppression and celebration intermingle to define the identities of African American women. These images -- from their color palette, to their textures, to the actions they depict -- were designed to embrace the idea of celebration, radical joy, and resilience. The imagery of the game is informed by personal narratives of African American women ages 23-71 and a “call and response” interview methodology.
